Here are a few from this year...

I apologize if the pic isn't super-clear...I should have found a lighter background in a less sunny spot.
This year was tougher than usual...only found 30 or so... but in a way, that's a good thing...the deer had the easiest winter in quite a few years and weren't all bunched up at food sources. A bad year for finding sheds in my neck of the woods generally means an easier winter for the deer herd.
March 6th of 2015 was a great day of shed hunting for me...not necessarily in quantity but more in quality! I found this one...

This is actually a shed that I had been looking for since late December of 2012(that is when this particular buck shed)...looked many hours in both the springs of 2013 and 2014 with no luck. in August of 2014, I literally stumbled on the right side while walking in to do some work on my stands. Back to this March 6th...I was then fortunate enough to find the left antler (the one pictured above). They are by far my far my biggest matched set...and 2nd and 3rd biggest all time amongst all of my sheds.
Here they are together...

And here is what he looked like on the hoof...

Any guesses on the score???

So after finding that one and 4 more that morning of March 6th...it was already a great day. In the afternoon, I decided to go to another of my spots...and got lucky again...

The first pic shows how buried into the ground it was. I had to leave it and come back with a pick-axe to dig it out of the frozen leaves and dirt. After laying in the elements for 15 years (it's been there since the winter of 1999/2000), it is still in surprisingly good shape. It scores 87"...would have been apprxly 90" when you factor in the 15 yrs of drying and the few antler tips missing (grooves show it got hit by a farm implement somewhere along the way). It also makes it into my top 5 or 6 singles of all-time. A great day!
