The abbey has a restaurant where they serve home made Hanm, home made cheese, on homemade bread with their beer. One of the finest meals I've ever had, simple but perfection in every item. At 12% I could only have one beer and still be able to drive but I could have had more....many more. When you go to the restaurant you can buy a six pack of beer, my wife and I each got one of course and treated each bottle like treasure.

I have a bunch of the Westvleteren 12 and a handful of the 8 in my basement right now - special occasion only. I spent some time this past spring working in Brussels so I made the trip out to the abbey (In de Vrede) a few times. I packed those bottles with so much care for the journey home and didn't lose a single one. Seriously good beer
