I’d love to be able to collect and restore old snowmobiles, outboards, chainsaws, etc. But probably only if I could put them on display somehow to show them off so people could see the beauty of design, creativity inventiveness and so the intrinsic value in them. Otherwise I’d just catch more flack for hoarding junk.

I really think most people don’t see most collectibles as the slightest bit valuable unless there’s a big price tag or famous person attached to it. And it works that way for useless crap too. Then suddenly they develop an affinity for it. Like when some big entertainment personality buys and flogs some crap and suddenly half the world wants it too.

I like the phrase “price us what you pay, value is what you get”.
