Sitting there about eight years old waiting for some action. Dad had the 30-06 woodsmaster loaded for bear.
He told me of a hunt before I was born. He had his 32-40 and a bear came in to 25y. It could smell him but not see him so it stood up. The bear dropped on the spot from a bullet to the spine. The bullet was found on the ground and it’s on a keychain.
Getting darker now and I fall asleep. Boom, I’m awake now. So dark I can’t see anything. Bear went into the woods never to be seen again.
