In winter iv had my best days on streamers, I used to fish the bow a on in winter and have found that they tend to hide right behind rocks on sunny days pickin off midges. A big streamer will fool the browns.
Cast it tight to Shore and strip it in, it's really fun to watch a brown turn around in a blizzard for one of these haha. I also like running a trailer boatman behind these if I'm swinging because you get the odd rainbow or white.
