I just came back on the weekend. Quads with factory tires were not having fun. I had mud bugs on and hauled out my deer no problem. Deer are already moving into the swamp spruce, (their winter range) hard to hunt though.
One thing you should know is that they had some serious wet snow up there three weeks ago and most of the trails and cutlines are impassable. I've never seen so much damage from wet snow. Not a chain saw, but a cat will be needed to clear it out. I was from just north of Athabasca and up to, east and west of Calling lake. Downed trees although the area. Oh, did I mention alders are my least favourite tree.
