If I were the Premier I would (quietly) instruct my Solicitor General to issue directives to his Crown Prosecution Service to not prosecute any firearms violations before the courts involving the liberal's illegal gun bans or confiscations unless the firearms involved were used in the commission of a crime. Easy.
