Summit Lake in the crowsnest pass has hundreds of dead fish... very sad.
We started our pond 6 years ago with 6" rainbows. Every year we saw them grow healthy and fat. The locals came by regularly and the fish never disappointed the anglers. They even attacked a few brave souls who jumped in the pond to beat the heat! Not anymore.
Something happened. Maybe it was the early freeze or the obscene amount of snow we had at the acreage. Every single one is dead. Truth is, we did everything wrong and the fish thrived all those 5 years. We never had even 1 fish die over the winter, not that we saw anyway.
I hope this is an isolated thing.
