Anytime Canuck, and Elkhorn, I will always recommend a 12yr old Glenfarclas for a newbie, the 15 yrs old is pretty good as well! Just remember that often times a 18 yrs old scotch may not taste as good to a newbie, as it would to a scotch vet! You may wanna give the Connemara a try, it's a Irish whiskey but it is a VERY good sip!
