Gboe8, I hope you made it. If you are going hwy 16 should be okay. Coquihalla closed 2 days after we passed on through. When we went through on Friday there were about 10 smaller fires close to the West bound lane. As in withing 50-100 feet of the hwy. There were only 3 helicopters fighting, that we could see, at the time. That was freakish to see and experience. Obviously got a lot worse after we passed through which is no surprise. Jumped the highway too from the images I've seen.
We are so lucky that we had zero smoke on the island. It was smoky all the way there. On the ferry ride back the smoke was rolling into the island. Sure timed this right.
I'm praying for rain for BC.
