Those buggers are like ghosts out on the prairie. It’s unbelievable that they can disappear with little to no cover.
Find the largest ranches or land unbroken by roads and glass them early in the morning and late in the evening.
In the prairie zone i hunt, they tend to stay far from roads. Until this year, i had never seen them in the river valley, but my son got his first elk a few weeks ago in a corn field right down in the bottom, so that tells me they can be anywhere.
Like was said above: what wmu and season are you hunting them?
