One good thing in going to an upcoming Oilers game next week is that one of my boys (11 years old) was chosen as the Scotia Bank skater to lead the Oilers onto the ice.
and with that 4 seats for our family to watch the game.
A once in a lifetime opportunity for any child and since my son is an Oilers fan, he really hopes that Ryan Nugent Hopkins is off the IR by then as that's his favorite player.
This will be the first game in the new arena for my boys and wife to watch as the last game we attended as a family was the last game played in Rexall Place against Vancouver. I went to Playoff Game 3 against Anaheim last April as I was in the city for work meetings and it was better than sitting in the hotel room that night...except for the outcome of the game.
