Well with more money ( and if it actually went were it should) we don't have to close places like Raven brood trout station and can afford to build more. I agree mortality rates in winter are higher and if you can't keep the fish your fishing for in deep water then maybe it's best to leave them be but most lakes in Alberta don't have that issue. I disagree that catch and release is anywhere close to catch and keep as far as mortality rates though. Lakes like pigeon and Sylvan have hundreds of walleye caught and released daily and there's still tons of walleye in there.
