I saved the arrow from my first archery kill ever last year (probably would have re-used it, but it was busted).
This fall, I killed my first yote with a bow, and that arrow went back into the quiver, blood stained vanes and all. For the rest of the season, that was the arrow that was nocked.
When I managed to take my first archery buck this November, that was the arrow that flew first. It ticked a branch and hit the ground under the buck. I connected with my second shot, and recovered both arrows. They're back into rotation because I'm cheap. Once I get another bunch of 'em they may be retired. I love the karma that they have, but I'd really hate to lose one of 'em too. Maybe they'll just ride along in the quiver. Not sure yet........
