We fished that lake in the 70's through the 90's almost every weekend it was open. Never saw a pike BUT had heard this story a few times. The river is, after all, not that far away and you could still catch a pike as far upstream as the park boundary I am told. Just take one guy with a bucket and game on.

People have caught cutties, brookies, rainbows and bulls in that lake - we have caught most of these on rare occasion ourselves. Splake are not uncommon.

The limits were way too high in the 70's and 80's. That lake was grossly over harvested and I remember every boat coming off the lake with heavy stringers of of fish.

Amazing Lake - too bad the fishing is now so tough, the recruitment so low, and the government refuses to promote stocking of either forage or game fish.
