All true points you mentioned...
However I don't think increased nutrients would cause mountain whitefish populations to decline.
The majority of declines occur in the upper reaches where brown trout are not as numerous as the middle or lower Bow.
Introduced species like brookies and rainbows and browns may have an impact...but qualitatively speaking
I find it hard to see that as the major cause of any decline...versus removing spawners...before they spawn.
