I think it depends on the experience you're looking for. Great optics make a major difference but if you dont have the gear to get back and camp youre missing out. I accumulated gear over the years and am fortunate to have gotten high quality. If I had to choose between The best optics or being able to get back to a secluded spot and camp I would choose the gear that will get me out.
