If you know the badger is down the hole you could make a jumbo size mole set with a 220 or 330 conibear. By a mole set I mean a underground set. You would have to dig back from the hole entrance to make the set in the underground run the badger uses. Cover the set with a plywood and dirt and it won't catch pets or attract attention in any way. Leave the entrance alone and open and the badger will think he can travel freely out of the run and "SNAP!"
Sort of consider the badger run underground like a beaver run underwater.
You would have to have your resident or registered trapping licence to set traps. F&W or animal control might have a live trap they could set too.
