8 is ideal. Won’t step thru, anything come up they it. Easier on the motor to drill
10 is used for sight fishing perch/whites or if doing an overnight as I can maintain them and keep them open despite them shrinking to as narrow as 6”
Also find I lose the odd one in a 10 as there’s rom to turn, thrash, etc.
