I'm from Ontario, where Bass fishing is Huge! It's a relatively short season for the, 3rd weekend in June until Dec 1st...I believe. They are late spawners as they need warmer water, they can sometimes be caught through the ice, by chance. I think that if youve never been bass fishing, you really should try it! Nothing like tossing a frog on some lilly pads and watching the water Explode as a Largemouth engulfs your lure! Its truly amazing!

On the other hand though, some people see bass as an invasive species, which on some counts is true.

so, in closing... No, I would not support an introduction of bass in Alberta. But highly suggest, if you havent been...that you pick up some 4" tube baits and some artificial frogs..and head to the BC interior and get on some Bass!! You'll have a blast, I can almost gaurantee that!!
