IIRC you're not mistaken. I think the max relief is just under $1million.

So Oilers could save about 1 million off of Spooner's contract and all of Rattie's by sending them to the AHL. Someone correct me if I'm wrong as I am just working from memory.

This would be a significant amount of cap space for the Oilers who are pretty much tapped out.
