I'm a fan!
Started by big game hunting days with the 6.5x55 surplus rifle. Work took me north, Big animals up north. And older gent (can't remember his name??) at the old Wholesale Sports on 97th and Yellowhead told me I couldn't go wrong with a 30-06.
So I walked out with a Winchester mod 70 Black Shadow. Unfortunately there's a lot of snow up north and winter tires have priority.
I pretty tried several of the popular cartridges; 303, 30-30, 308, 300WM, 7mm RM, 7mm WSM, 280 Rem, 280 AI, 243 plus the obvious ('06 & 6.5 Sw).
Not to mention my blackpowder guns. But, I have gone back to '06.
As a matter of fact I just sold a TC Encore Pro Hunter bbl in '06 and picked up a Win XPR '06 and Rem 760 Gamemaster in '06.
It's simple and it works.
