Tyangelo, In my experience (not at jackfish, never caught walleye there) braid is fine for walleye as long as you don't use a steel leader. Also i use 14lb braid so if your using 30 it might be different. If you are worried about it though just tie a swivel on an then a 4-5 foot peice of fluro/mono after that.
