I thought I could sharpen them myself also and miserably failed and ended up buying a new set. Some guys have mentioned on here that they have been successful in sharpening them but I think many have mentioned that they take them to a shop to get sharpened. they way they sit on the auger I think that they have to be sharpened precisely with the angle that they sit on, too much and they will cut too hard and not enough and they wont cut at all.
