I've been using several bridges constructed by seismic crews on my line for the last while but sometime over the last couple of weeks they came in and took them all out. Which is fine and was expected, just didn't think they were done yet but I guess they are, which is also good. At any rate, bridges are an important component of travel around my trapline - I have at least a dozen of various types, mostly just logs staked across creeks like the photos below.

But, these are at best just temporary and will be replaced. After seeing braggadoe's construction of bridges, I realized I had better get in the game and get some proper bridges put up. This one a friend and I built this weekend. The span is about 10 feet across. The first photo is the main beams that hold the planks.

Here I am cutting the planks. They are a full 2-inches thick, 7 feet across and of various widths.

And the final product. This one took about 6 hours total.

One down, many more to go.
