Default Pressure washer

I currently have a Simoniz 2900 piece of you know what it always blows the o ring on the discharge valve and damages a valve body.Well today I checked the oil and it looked right on the dipstick so when I remove the fill plug it was full to the top.I would think that if water got into the motor oil it would be milky but not.The 6.5 seemed to run ok but pump not so much.So whiteout breaking the bank what do you suggest I’m only using it for rv was and garage and driveway. All help will,be appreciated

When it comes to pressure washers the most important part is obviously the motor, get something with a good brand name like Briggs & Stratton. Electric PW's are just toy's, stay away from them. Get more power than you think you will need, you can always dial down the pressure, better to run one at 3/4 power and have a little extra if you need it than run one full out and not have enough jam. Ask anyone that has one if they wished theirs had more blasting power, chances are high that they did wished it did. A lot of the ones for sale are just toys, barely more blasting power than a garden hose with a thumb over the nozzle.

The one I got can peel paint with ease. It's downright dangerous at full power. I run it at about half gas and has all the blasting power I need and I'm not running it very hard. In this case, bigger is definitely better.

This is the one..

Has a Kohler 6.5 HP on it. It's an AWESOME pressure washer, I HIGHLY recommend it. Had it for a good 5 yrs now and has a TON of use on it and it's never givin me problems. You won't be disappointed with one of these.

Shop around, found mine on clearance (can't recall where) and got it for a shade under $500

To me pressure is less to water volume. You can wash at 5000PSI but if the water is only 2 GPM there isn’t much cleaning happening, most pressure advertised is peak pressure. You want running pressure. I finally purchased a serviceable pump and it’s 3GPM and 3000 PSI delivery pressure and does what I need.

Any feedback on electric models? Only need something smaller (but reliable and still does the job) for home use.

Have a look at the Generac washers. I've had one for 3 years now and love it. They make their own motors and pumps and I have never had a problem. As above, I usually wash at about 1/2 throttle and it works great for RV, toys and driveway.
Had a couple of electrics over the years with a Westward being the best one. Downside of electric is you can only get so much power with 110v which affects the PSI and GPM it can put out.

Just buy a replacement pump. If motor goes in the future, buy a replace motor.
