Haven't been there yet this year, but a few people from the board have been.

What I can tell you, though, is that Lac La Biche Fire Department responded to Seibert Lake tonight because someone/something went through the ice...so be careful.

Fished Siebert yesterday, good 3 ft of ice all the places we went, find it hard to believe someone went through. My truck is 7800lbs and not even a crack heard on the ice

Hey kreator, that reminds me of the time, 1989 I think, when a CF-18A Hornet from Cold lake went through the ice at Seibert. We were planning to go that weekend but they closed the lake to fish for the fighter. Sadly the pilot was killed on that one.

Seibert is a tough one because of no bait. Fish the little beaver damn bay on the east shore south of the small point. Kind of shallow but work your way out till you find the drop off. Some of the bigger pike hang out around there.

That sounds scary! I wonder what happend.Last winter me and my buddy broke through 10" of good ice on Gull. We got lucky it was only 3 feet deep. His truck was a ford deisel 1 ton.
I've been quite nerves this year about it.I have a pic but not sure how to put it on here

It must have been the result of a heave. As Tyee said, there is great clear ice up there and very little snow. In fact, I posted a pic from when I was last there between New Years and Christmas where a modified school bus was driving on the lake.

Cheers.
