Default Whoa, talk about a price increase

Was in the market for a 48" rototiller for my acreage tractor. Found the model I wanted and the dealer had 2, 2021 models left. $3300 for the 2021. The 2022 should be showing up in a few weeks and will sell for $3700. When I asked what the upgrades were, his response was "the year". Haha. Almost 12% increase over 1 years. I sure wish my salary increased like that.

Have you been living under a rock?

Steel products have been up 25% for 2 years.

Lumber double. Maybe more.

Gas 50% or more

Haha.

Yea wages have fallen behind that’s for sure.

We wanted a garden shed last year for $1499 but knowone had any. Same shed this year, $1999. That's an almost 40% increase in price!! insane!!!! Tell me again inflation is only 5%

Shipments have increased. A local seed company used to get 2 loads a week from Oregon to Ontario for 5k per load last year. In February his price was 10k.

We get a load from Oregon as well once a year and last year we paid 6200.00 which was the rate the previous year or close to it. This year for our single load we had to pay $14,000

Stay in business, close shop or pass the increased prices onto the consumer the best you can unfortunately.

Bought 4 - 1/2x 6" bolts on Sat. 17. " they blame it on the Russians" . Farmer lady claims there is no Round Up, essential for modern farming to be found in North America.

I had one of my sub contractors order a special trench drain 2.5 months ago and was to arrive here Mar.14. He kept getting the runaround till Friday, the real story is they were quoted shipping at $5K and now they want $15$ from North Carolina to Edmonton.
This is just one of my everyday stories right now, it is not fun being a Builder and having to have a plan A and B and C before you even start the project.

Buy wheat stocks. Buy agricultural stocks. Fertilizer going up,up,up. All related to this war. Russia, and Ukraine are bread basket countries. Expect zero exports from either this year.

We build Vac, Water, Bed and winch trucks and the parts I bought three months ago will be increased in price by now. Try and quote builds with the daily fluctuating steel prices as well. Your rototiller attachment with its 12 percent increase in a year is absolutely nothin….

Did a farm claim recently. Brand new 2020 Brandt grain conveyor still on the lot, $87,000.00. 2022 models are ordered but not on the lot yet, $111,500.00 Exact same piece of equipment.

Did a bunch of grain bin claims that blew over in the wind last year. You want to talk about crazy increases. 25 plus % increases from spring to fall. All due to steel surcharges.

And then the poor farmers have to deal with all the input cost increases that will break the bank. Crazy times.

Russia is apparently the world's number one fertilizer exporter. Gonna be interesting to see how that works out.

No, actually this is our first major purchase since covid started. We have all our meat and vegetables from hunting and the garden. I noticed gas has gone crazy lately, I guess I should keep better tabs on the price of toilet paper.

Powder being in short supply is no secret but man some of the prices ? From $55 to $73.50 [tax in] at Cabelas is a deal these days if you jump fast enough. Seen a bunch on a few sites that are more then double.....triple on one auction site.

Lmao. I'm guessing that this is what the news meant when they said the young adults are in for a shock. Enjoy inflation. We will see if mortgages reach the 1980's rates in the high teens. Artificially controlled bank rates had to go sometime. Isn't war supposed to be good for the economy? Just wait until the service fees for medical services hit you too. Wife had to pay out of pocket to see a specialist after a knee injury. Probably going to have to pay for the MRI out of pocket if we want it done before 2023

Many are two pay checks away from going broke....living outta your means catches up which is one thing you can control, as for stupid rapid price increases just hang on and scale back if needed.

What's kinda puzzling is that booze and cigarettes really haven't gone up much lately. Always was inflated by tax but so was gas. What's up with that?
