china, visionary or economic nightmare awaiting?

Ok so been at home for a weekend and been doing some reading on china.

Look up ghost cities on youtube. China has built tonnes of cities all over then place in the span of the last six years in response to the major downturn in their economy thanks to the usa financial collapse of 2008.

China has expanded debt in five years which is equivelent to the entire debt expansion of the unitied states in the last 100years.

Is this the true power of the chinese republic or is it a real estate boom that will blow up like every other boom has been doing around the world?

China's communist-capitalist mix allows them to control their economy better than any other country on earth. They can weather global market hiccups extremely easily.

these guys build whole cities in one go... modern planned cities from scratch. There are themed cities. There is an italian city, a paris imitation, german themed cities... It is something else.

They havent stopped either, they are digging up another one or two right now, it is insane

China's ability to "control their economy" is limited to internal policies. It has very little "real" effect.

The reduction of China's revenues from exports they manufacture and sell abroad is real.

They need this revenue to buy goods they cannot produce locally.

It can and will effect their economy - despite their "control".

There is no sound argument, or historical evidence to suggest that you can turn 2 apples into 3 apples, 4 bananas and an orange with a magic wand.

"Everything" is made in China and sold back to us...we produce virtually nothing for ourselves......we have to BUY it from China.....it will be our undoing in the long run no doubt. It's like the self sufficient farmer that moves into a condo and starts to buy everything from the local shopping center....they charge what they want and you have no choice but to pay it.

great! maybe the Chinese will build a Grande Prairie Alberta theme city, the streets will have thousands of huge bottomless potholes and the motoring traffic
doesn't stop for or obey traffic lights !
