Default First Time Ice Fishing

I had the opportunity to take my son out for our first ice fishing trip on Sunday. We didn't catch a thing but he lasted all afternoon, and wants to get out again to "catch a big fish!"

It’s not what you catch, it’s the company you keep!

Good show. I took my 2 lil ones out recently and had to remind myself it’s not about the catching, but the time together outdoors.
When I’m alone it’s all about catching, lol. And it was hard to switch gears for a bit. I felt the pressure of a high rate guide, workin for a good tip, lol.

Still important to catch! Haha I remember when I was a child and my dad took me out. How happy we were to catch a bunch of trout for dinner. Just felt like a big accomplishment like I was some big boy. Really got into fishing.

That's so awesome. I got into fishing by catching buckets of perch in Pine Lake at around the same age. His wife is going to have a grudge against you someday

It's good to hear your kid still liked it and wants to go again! I love taking mine out, though sadly havn't had them out on a day where we can't keep bait on the lines but they have caught some and had fun. My 4 year old has been asking daily to "go catch a pike Dad?" haha
