Default pine coulee report/ chain lakes question

went to pine coulee yesterday from about 3 till 9:30 great day on the ice. the walleye were biting steady during the day and i even managed a nice ling and some smaller ones around 5 which was suprising. in total managed 37 ling 9 eyes and 1 jack and i was by myself. the ice is still safe for acces by foot but its loosing its thickness fast and there was about 2-4 inces of water on top in some spots. there was some people i could see from my spot fishing prob only 30 feet from the open water under the bridge. not safest thing thats for sure especially with the warm temps the wind blowing.
i was thinking of heading to chain to get into some good late season rainbow action. according to the regs its open all year there is no sign at the lake saying other wise is there? and is the ice still good for walking thanks

Chain is open all year. From what I have heard the ice should be okay to walk.

Remember that there is a small population of Bull trout in that lake and are protected.

I have never caught a bull trout out of chain so there must not be very many and they hide really well.
