I might try Mameo Beach Pier, as the Prov. Park pier might have been taken in.

Though I have not been out there for a while and the PP pier might still be out.

Good Luck

Yes, that would be Pigeon Lake Provincial Park. There is another smaller campsite at the north end of the lake Zeiner Provincial Park.

The whites should be in spawning now I would think.

Good luck

here's the map of pigeon. Mameo is on the south east side of the lake.

If you notice.. the shoreline around the lake is relatively shallow. But you only need 1 to 2 meters deep to maybe catch fish. In front of the south provincial park boat launch it drops off enough to shore fish. I like to wade out up to my knees but the water is probably too cold now. Cooler water, slow your lure down. If you notice fish just sucking the surface, probably whitefish, try a wireworm or other whitefish lures 2 feet below a float. Very slow retrieve.

Last weekend I notice that lot of whitefish sucking the suface and they are not interested ont the lures. I used wireworms. I guess this is the spawning time for them. Do they bite or they interested in only spawning? Thanks in advance..

For what it's worth as I'm far far from an expert on Whitefish

http://www.blackbearcamp.com/white.htm

"Whitefish spawn in the Fall. They migrate into rivers and basically spawn in the same spawning beds as the Walleyes. During the spawn, the Whitefish only feed during the day which is the exact opposite of most fish. You will find that as soon as it gets dark, the fish lose all interest in food and concentrate on their spawn. During the end of the spawn, they may start to feed before they travel back to the lake."

this is the best time of year to catch lake whites if your know where they spawn you are in for the time of your life . jig a gold castmaster or similar lure , by banging the bottom on a lift and drop. pigeon lake is one on best lakes for this. if you see fish on the surface you are in the right area. good luck. try the crystal spring area by the point
