Default Atv battery

What are your recommendations. Got to be something better than manufacturer batteries. AGM?

If you're in the Red Deer area sometime, The Battery Doctors can set you up with a quality unit.

Tried CT, Optima, Interstate and Costco. Usually really like Costco, have them in everything, but their ATV batteries only have a 1 year warranty. That said, the Costco one I put in the Kubota is going on 4 years and stiill fgoing strong, the original Kubota battery lasted 16 years.

Last one for the Honda, went back to the Factory Yuasa. Even with not taking good care of them I get 10 to 12 years per. Never got that out of any of the other after market ones.

Default Alberta Battery

Parsons Road south Edm.

They have treated me well. Stand behind their products.

If the stuff they sold ever craps out ( 3 years still going strong ) I will go back there.

I ordered one on Amazon 3 years ago, still going strong. it came dry and I had to source acid locally.

I got tired of replacing those "toy" batteries on both Quads and snowmobiles. Usually find a place on the units to put a bigger car battery. Have bought batteries from Alberta battery and Battery Doctor. Absolutely stay away from Canadian Tire.

I’ve had some pretty good experience with the Yuasa brand. Been using them for over 16 years now.

Yuasa and AGM if you want the quickest charging, for pinching. Storing with a battery tender greatly increases the service life.

Mt 2007 Grizzly is on its second Yuasa that I replaced 2 years ago. Bought at Honda Powerhouse Calgary and other than the price tag I am happy with it.

Key to long life on a small battery is to keep it charged through winter.

If you store outside under a tarp get a small solar charger and leave it on all winter facing the sun..

Low amperage e will not damage the battery and the battery will not freeze.

I have used the lawn mower batteries for the last 10 years on the sxs. Am on the second one in that many years, and only because I was not topping charge up through the winter months like I should have.

I built a charging station in my garage for charging my RV batteries over the winter. Up off the floor on wood with a battery tender for each battery. The tender is hooked to them in October and comes off in April. My lithium batteries for the e-bike are put on a wood shelf in our mechanical room when we're done with the bikes and put on charge as well for the winter.

While the trickle charge helps your lead acid batteries, I would NOT do that with lithium. Lithium are best stored at 70% charge in a temperature above freezing. Check them occasionally and top them up to 70% with the proper rapid charger for that battery voltage. Storing them on a trickle charger greatly reduces the number of charge cycles they will do, not to mention the fire risk of an overheated battery.

My most recent ATV battery was a Yuasa AGM and the best price I found was from SaskBattery. It replaced a seven year old generic battery in my Grizzly 700.
