that can all vary, try different factory loads until you find what you gun likes best. I had one that shot under an inch at 100 yards. Great guns for bedding, painting stocks and banging around the truck

about 1.5" prone if I pay attention to what I'm doing.
Great gun especially for the price. Had one in 30-06 for years.

Hi, my name's Dave and I'm a Savage guy.

My main hunting rifle for deer is a model 111 (non-accutrigger). I think that I bought that one, not only because it was cheaper, but because it was the only one that came with a magazine.......I hate top loading internal mags. My rifle was getting about 2" groupings with CoreLokt ammo. Then, because my trigger was absolutely brutal to pull, I bought a Timney Trigger to put in it and I started reloading my own ammo. That has improved my grouping size 100% and it now shoots 1" groupings.

At the time, but using today's prices, buying a Savage Model 111:

A model 111FXP3 (package) with the internal mag & AccuTrigger = $600

A model 111FXP3 (package) with a detachable mag, Non-AccuTrigger = $430

A Timney Trigger = $120

Hmmmmmm....................

Have one i 270 and it is well within an inch off the rest at 100yrds, couldnt ask for better grouping out of a cheap rifle.

Savage may once have been regarded as an "inferior" gun, but with the crap the Big names are turning out, it's ahead of the pack, as far as I'm concerned.

mine is a 300wm fcxp3, I got 3/4" at 100 yards and 6" at 400 yards
my load was with 200gr TTSX and retumbo powder
but I was not satisfied with the bullet result in my moose this year so next summer I will work a load with 200gr accubound

Thats exactly what I did. Savage 111FXP3 in 7mm Rem Mag and put on the timney. Very chrisp, shoots under an inch at 100 with RL 22 and 160gr accubonds.

Default Very good rifle

I bought one last month. $500 in .270 win. Slapped a Weaver buck commander scope on it, 4-16 x 40. Shoots tight 1"- 2" at 100y from a bench freehanded. Very happy with the accutrigger and the safteyswitch on the savage. Shooting Federal Fusion 150 grain. Tried Hornady Superformance 130 grain. Too fast for my liking and very pricey.

I've got one in .270 Win no accu trigger and off a lead sled style rest it will shoot 1.25" with Winchester 130 grain factory loads, Remington factory loads with CorLokt bullets shoot around 1" and the real shocker was the federal 130 grain loads which are well under an inch for me. Got some handloads to try out now if the wind ever stops!
