Default Wading jacket

Looking at getting a new wading jacket, will mostly be used on the west coast. Are there any decent ones that don't run $6 to $700? Right now im just using my cabelas guidewear rain jacket.

Default Patagonia SST

The best one on the market, tons of shoulder room for rolling those spay rods and also to add a fleece as well.

I've been considering the Eddie Bauer myself.

Frogg Toggs has some inexpensive wading jackets. No idea on the quality but they seem well reviewed.

I have an Eddie Bauer too. It is a great rain jacket---comfortable with an appropriate amount of pockets.

OP---how much would you like to spend.

id be willing to spend 2 to 400, I just find it hard to swallow paying 6 or 700 for a wading jacket that's not much more than a rain coat.

If you're not in a hurry, monitor the discount outdoor shops and clearance websites. Wading jackets will go on sale for 50% off when the style changes. Simms and Patagonia make outstanding jackets for fishing and one year old makes little difference. They will last for hundred of days of use in bad weather, I picked up a couple of top line jackets 10 years ago on sale and they will see many more years of use. A Simms G4 can be found on sale for under $400.

My Eddie Bauer cost me $240. At $400, you may be able to find a reasonable gortex shell.
