Default Wolf Packs

Well got out yesterday for 6hrs in the kayak. What a day sitting in 2-3 fow and literally pulling up gator after gator, stopped counting after 30 in 1.5hrs.
Seen three big mommas that would go from sandy spot to sandy spot avoiding everything I tossed at them but 24-30 inchers were literally hunting in packs.
They would even sit under the kayak and hang out until I tossed something out. So many were caught right at the kayak to the point I went to deeper water with a bigger presentation to attempt to shake the wolf packs off.
In 20 years I never seen them this congested and aggressive.
Today is a walleye day, jig and a minnow will be on the menu!

This guy was sitting under the kayak and yup ate the spoon right away.
Thought he was hiding.
Lol

18hrs total in this kayak so far this season and no complaints to date.
Now to catch some eyes!

Another great post! Don’t see them grouping up like that often. That’s so cool when you can watch it all unfold. Best of luck to you and your wife on another successful open water season. Hope ya reel in a bunch of walleye next outing. Cool kayak as well. Be safe and best of luck.

Thx, yeah I usually see them one or two sitting in open sandy areas sunning themselves but not five or six.
Like I mentioned the smaller ones were turned on and super aggressive and the real big ones I saw were content to move to another sandy area as I tried to get them to bite.
Chatted with a guide buddy and he mentioned that usually the real big ones take more time to get turned on after spawning, needing more rest and slight increase in water temperature so I will return again and hopefully they didn’t move out.
