has any any one ever smoked burbot ??any suggestions or thoughts.I have smoked mostly trout and salmon in the past. got couple of pounds of ling that has to get used, thought I might smoke it.have hickory and maple chips.
try it, and let me know how it works. i also have a bunch that need to be used up. burbot arnt that oily. i dont know if it would fall apart in the smoker. try google "smoked cod"
burbot are one of my favourite. i smoked a bunch a couple years ago. definitly cant over cook or they turn into rubber. time it perfectly. but turns out realy good. i also found that keeping the skin on works good. but befor you clean the fish scrape all the slime off real good.keep the back strap seperate from the fillie part to smoke separitly.. hope that helps.
