Default Powder question

So a friend let me try his Benchmark powder for load development. I used about 200 grains. I will be using this powder in my loads and buying a fresh pound. I would like to replace the powder I have used. So my question is, can I just dip into my can and put the replacement in his can. I am a little unsure as this would be mixing lots of powder. He does not do any target shooting only hunting.

If you put 200 grains in an almost full can, and mixed it a bit, you would never know the difference. But you will need to test your load with the new lot.

I agree, full pound is 7000grains I believe, if his can is half or lower, buy him a beer or something instead.

As a friend I wouldn’t worry to much about loading 4 or 5 rounds of powder from a can

Just give him the new can. Use the rest u started with. Then buy a new one as u need it. Mixing lots however should be no problem. I often pour what is left into a new pound but I also tend to buy multi cans of the same lot of powders I use a lot of.

I wouldn’t worry too much about it! Sometimes people put way too much thought into things.

He is your friend. Just give him ten bucks and say thanks.

You used $1.45 worth of powder? Give him a package of his primers and the rest of his can back. Some day you’ll lend him a pound to try.
