Default My fishmark 480 portable

I'm new to Ice fishing and i have never used a fish finder before, i got this one for a heck of a deal at bass pro, and after reading through different threads decided to make it portable and give it a try on the ice here is a picture, not sure how to use it yet but i will be testing out on friday at crawling valley, just got a tent now to find a decent power auger and i'm set. any tips on how to set this thing up for the hard water would be great.

For best sucsess take the manual along then go threw the options and such so you know how to use it .

Eagle has online manuals. There is also a practice mode on that system.
You're going to have to find a way to keep the transducer level while using it.
I used a peice of 3 foot aluminum with holes drilled at different levels
about 3 inches apart. I bolt the transducer to the lowest hole and a
cross brace of wood above that. The cross brace sits on the ice while the
transducer hangs in the water.
The thing looks like a cross when opened.

Exactly. I went low tech and just used duct tape. If you go the tape method don't put any across the bottom face of the transducer.
