Hay
Hi all,
My wife and I are having trouble finding hay this year. Looking to overwinter two horses (usually takes about 200 squares) and in a normal year we would be looking for Timothy heavy with as little Alfalfa as possible, but beggars can't be choosers.
If you or anyone you know has hay for sale, please let me know. I would really appreciate it.
Thanks all!
Mike

The going rate is $10 to $12 per square bale this year. I just bought 100 at $8.00 and was glad to get it from nice couple in Wildwood.

Buy big round bales, stand them on their ends and unroll. More value for your money. Just for maintenance, you don't want any alfalfa at all. Check the Alberta government web site.

Sq bales.
Go south young man. At the last horse sale at Olds, nice squares were going for $ 5.00 a bale.

They tell me we got about the best growing conditions in the province, people are still cutting and there is potential for a second cut. Bought some bales from a neighbor for 6.00 but I know another farmer who was selling his for 10. and had no trouble finding customers. Next Olds sale, they'll be selling for 15.00 now that you've put out the word.

Gotta take advantage of the nice weather, went riding instead. Lovely day, bugs are about gone.
