It’s near Hudson’s Hope. It’s the reservoir between W A C Bennett Dam and Peace Canyon Dam. About 23 miles long. Has lake trout, bull trout, rainbows. Kokanee and possibly some others. Beautiful boat launch and floating dock. The campground is rustic with only pit toilets. There is also a new ATV campground for the trail system that we haven’t checked out yet.

Looks like a nice spot to hang your hat for a few days and wet a line!
Well done.

Beautiful country. Hard lake to fish, so good on you! Amazing little gem.

Op, thanks for sharing!

Dinosaur lake is west of FSJ just outside the town of Hudson's Hope. The Bennett Dam backs up the Peace River into the Rocky Mountains to create Williston Lake. The Peace Canyon Dam is about 20km further downstream backs up water between it and the Bennett Dam to form Dinosaur Lake. Another 80km or so downstream from the Peace Canyon Dam is the new Site C dam which when flooded will create another new rather large reservoir.

Rocky Mountains--->Williston Lake--->Bennett Dam--->Dinosaur Lake--->Peace Canyon Dam--->new Unnamed Lake--->Site C Dam--->Peace River

The locals consider it to be fished out. There aren't a lot of fish in Dinosaur Lake. It's more of an outting than a hardcore fishing trip...you go to Williston if you really want to catch fish. But Dinosaur is paved pretty much right to the launch, which is one of the best I've ever come across. And it's almost always calm due to it's size, shape and location. And there is the odd nice fish in it.

Beauty! They could have been taken with the same camera. Agreed on the launch & little day use area there. We cooked a steak, then ran to kinuseo the next day. Caught a few grayling, and that is some awesome scenery as well!

Op, thanks for sharing!
