Cordless Impact
Is there cordless impacts that are sufficient for changing tires on half ton pickups and cars? What brand and volts would that be?

That's the ticket right there, look around at Amazon or wherever, but imo there isn't a better cordless impact out there for your needs. Snap On makes one as well, if you like spending lots more money.

I use an 18V Dewalt as well, it's been awesome and it will take the lug nuts off a 1/2 ton within reason.
Not saying it's the best on the market but I bought one after using one in a friends commercial shop. Tjhey are such a handy unit.

Milwaukee Fuel m18. KMS tools has them on sale with an extra year of warranty right now.
The ones that I have will whack stuff that an air impact with a higher torque rating won't budge.
Dad has a 3/4" drive, and I have a 1/2" drive. It'll loosen lugs on semis with no problem.
Milwaukee has a hydraulic screw driver that some say they've done tire changes with. model 2760 I think. In my opinion that is borderline if there's any corrosion on the lugs.

You can watch a head to head of various cordless tools on wranglerstar youtube channel. Let's just say that the dewalt let out the magic smoke while the milwaukee just kept on ticking. I think that rigid was the same story vs milwaukee.

From that site Twisted Canuck posted

I'm in the market for a new drill /driver and the brushless Milwaukee is my choice, Just waiting for a sale. The 5 amp hour battery is nice
