Default Powerhouse Generators/inverters.. Any Good?

I am looking for a 3000watt inverter for the new camper. Does anyone have any experience with the powerhouse brand sold by costco? They look mighty attractive compared to the price tag of a honda or yamaha.
Thanks.

You get what you pay for..

I've got a Champion 2000w inverter and for the amount I use it, it's perfect. EI. Can't justify the $$$$ for a Honda/yammie when it only get's used for 1 or 2 weekends a year.

IF you are planning on using it often, suck it up and buy a good one.

About as much louder then Yammie/Honda as it is cheaper. But they work.

Prepare thyself for a LOT o' noise ... even their smaller one (PH2100PRi) creates quite a racket

Ive tried the powerhouse P2100R remote start from costco. Sent 2 of them back, 1 after 1 weekend, the other never even started it because the fuel tank was rusty and had lots of rust flakes inside. The primer has to be pushed 20 to 40 times to prime, even at that it took sometimes 10 to 20 times for it starting and quiting before it would continue to run. So much for hitting the remote start in the morning in your undies. The eco throttle had to be off so when it started it would run flat out and you had to start it under no load, so basically you had to be at the generator to start it properly.
The reason for buying this one was so I didnt have to go outside in the morning to start the generator.
I do have a Honda EU3000is, but no remote start and the electric start battery is bad after 5 years. Remote start installed and battery would have been $650 thats how much I paid for the powerhouse. The honda probably has now over 1200 trouble free hours on it.
The powerhouse was also so noisy I wouldnt use it in a camp ground.

U sure it was the 3000w yammy not the 2000? Not that I don't believe you, but it's not likely to have been the 3000. Heck, dealers want upwards of $2g just for a 2000w Honda/yammy here.

I got my 2000w yammy in Montana new for $1g and considered that a steal!

Sorry, but you have to be mistaken. I supply all of the RV dealers with their Yamaha's so I know exactly what they pay for them. The lowest price I saw was on Thursday night and it was just below the $2000 mark. Unless you're buddy bought a trailer, I can't see this happening. And last years model is the same as this years.

I was there.... for two days working with the outfits that had the Yamaha's. I know what they were selling them for, that's why I'm trying to dig deeper. Are you sure you're buddy didn't buy a Powerhouse? Everything you're telling me (price and weight) point toward that brand. Like I said, I know what they pay for the Yamaha's, can't see them losing hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of dollars.

Is that because there is price fixing?
