Thinking about buying a savage mk ll .22lr
Just curious if anyone out there has feedback for me on the savage mk ll? I'm looking into buying one chambered in .22 lr! I like the bolt action so I don't want a 10/22! Just want to hear feedback about this particular rifle! If you don't have one, or have never fired one, please don't waste this thread by telling me how great your other gun is, I'm not interested in whatever other kind of gun you might have! Sorry for being blunt! Thanks in advance for the feedback!

I have two of them..... love them.. reliable... accurate as hell with the right optics. Just bought a Leupold 2x7-28mm rimfire scope for my second one.. I can shoot shotgun hulls at 50 yards off the bench.
Go for it...

Ive got a mark II with the heavy barrel and synthetic stock, the blueing is crap, the machining on the outside of the barrel and reciever is rough, the magazines are a little cheasy, but it is the best shooting rimfire I own, tiny little groups. And for the record it shoots better than my 10-22 with a green mountain heavy barrel and timney trigger that I built.

I own one with the normal sporter barrel. Extremely tight groups with a cheap $50 simmons scope. Very reliable. Simple. Super accurate. the bluing on mine is perfect...

i have one- i prefer to hunt with the 5 shot clip vs the 10 shot clips-as they do stick out a fair bit and if have clip in gun on my back while hunting its a pain. but overall good gun...for the price u cant go wrong!

There are so many different variations of the Mark ii. I got the wood laminate version with a bull barrel (Mark ii BV). Awesome looking gun! Just got it so I haven't shot it yet but from what I hear the mark ii's are extremely accurate.

You won't find a better gun IMO, I shoot with a couple of buds who have a remmington 597(nice gun) and a ruger 10/22, the ruger feels so cheap and toyish. For the price of a savage you cant go wrong and like everyone else a 60 buck scope and your doing just fine. I am a bolt fan also somthing about having to reset for the shot or better yet actually having to aim as with the semi you just keep pulling the trigger untill you get what you were aiming for

Actually just got a mark 2 F from Wholesale sports, Only had it out twice but it is fun already having a hard time with the scope but i think thats the scope more then anything.
The accutrigger does make a difference in my opinon as new as that is.
I have put about 300+ rounds of federal through it with only 1 FTF but that was a dud cartridge, tried some winchester 555 (Redbox) last night had 2 FTF and about 10 FTE on about 100 rounds was annoying but that wasnt the gun just the ammo but thought I would share.
so far I like and i agree the bolt is more fun then a semi like the 10/22 but I am sure i will get a 10/22 someday.

Had both a btvs and a trr in .17hmr. The rifle is the same, just bigger bang. Loved the rifles. The btvs was a laminate stock with a stainless barrel and the trr is a black tactical laminate stock with a matte blues barrel. I would rate the fit and finish on both rifles as an 8/10 and the accuracy and fun factor both as a 10/10. My buddy has a mark2 FV. The plastic stock is lesser quality than the laminates, but his rifle shot every bit as good as both of mine (I was the shooter for all three to test).
I did have an issue with my mag not feeding correctly, and with a call to savage, they shipped a new mag, no hastle. Had the replacement in one week. No charge. The savage customer support has a great reputation should you need it.

Getting it!
Well after a week of fighting and reasoning with the wife, I finally have her on board! And within the next month I should have my new .22 hope that atlas has some in stock when I finally get the cash!
