Oldman water level
Fished the Oldman yesterday and it is incredibly low. Pray for rain people.

Without an awful lot of rain, we will have closures this summer. Please, please don't handle trout much in these low water conditions. Keep em in the water for release.

Yeah, since that first rain hit Calgary about 3 weeks ago...and it really wasn't much, I haven't seen anything but a sprinkle downtown Calgary. Pretty much zero precip.
Meanwhile back at the farm near Devon, with the exception of last week it has rained almost everyday for 3 weeks. Seems like every cloud that comes over dumps rain.
South needs what central is getting.

Its just hard to hear and imagine. Living in Edmonton I cant keep up to cutting my lawn.
I'm prayin for rain down south - selfish prayer as it is- trip planned end of July.

How was the fishing there? The river basins website shows the flow levels are much lower than usual. Headed down that way tomorrow for the weekend.

The fishing is fine, however the water close to 22 is like a bathtub. I am no longer photographing fish and as Lornce said, practicing minimal handling.

Much lower than usual is an understatement. The river at 22 shouldn't even be wadeable right now.

We need to stop fishing until the water levels rise.

Thanks for the info. Don't wanna do any damage to populations, might go straight on through the pass to BC and fish there instead.

Crow was healthy today, but the sheep, highwood, oldman look super low.

Oldman was knee to ankle where it should be hip deep in places... very very dire situation. I know I wont be fishing it too much. So sad to see. #keepemwet though if you're going to fish!
