Amundson's customer service is weak. Nice rods, crap reels IMO.

I have one , for my 8 wt#, can't remember the model # , but I have had no issues for 3 years ! The drag is really smooth. I would recomend this product to anyone !

I love my amundson. I have heard their customer service isn't the greatest. but they have a great product.

I think my Amundsen Trend is excellent, I use it on my 3 wt.

I have 3 reels from them. They are not great, but they get the job done. Make sure you loosen the drag all the way when storing these reels otherwise they tend to free spool. They mention it on their website. I have also found they can be a bit finicky in cold weather (-5 range.... if you don't winter fish, no problem).

For the money, and considering the amount you will be using them.... go for it.

I have Okuma SLV Fly Reels, two of them, that I bought off of Amazon US. Could not believe the quality for what I paid.

I've switched most of my reels over to the Amundson Trends. They have been awesome reels and my first one (the original Trend) has probably seen about 60 days and works like the day I got it out of the box.

I'm also lazy and don't maintain the reels whatsoever. my new Trend G2 is even nicer but I've only used it for one season so far (maybe about 15 days).

I have a Hobbs creek 4wt reel and its bullet proof i throw it around when im fishing and take little care for it and it doesn't even have a dent yet(You cant do this with other reels). This will be my 3rd season with it and it has had no trouble yet. The drag works smoothly and its a large arbor. For $40 bucks you cant go wrong, But im upgrading it this season with a redington drift in silver.
Its missing some paint around the edges but that is it.

FH7, i wouldnt be going with the redington drift. I've heard of some issues with them. I do still have a 5/6 rise with 3 spools that i could sell for decent price.

Otherwise, i'd go with an okuma or the g loomis venture in that price range, tnerb.

amundson is ok reel, they don't make their own reel. often you can find other brands sell the same reel for lower price.
as for reddington drift reel, there are better options if you like click and pawl reel. Without budget: go for hardy. With limited budget, I will take a look at cortland retro reel, the quality is as good as hardy, and classic look, smoother clicker, and classic sound.
