Are you new to these parts Pecheur? Not trying to be rude, just curious.

Usually the best time is early morning. However species such as burbot and walleye often bite better at night. Have you been ice fishing much before? If not, PM me and I'll try to help out as best as I can.

I don't get out to the prairie reservoirs much myself, but I'll try to pass on some info and hopefully some others can chip in to help you:

Rule #1 is that 90% of the fish are in 10% of the water. You'll have to find them. Don't be afraid to move around.

12 feet of water is a good place to start looking for most species.

the best place to look for fish is often an underwater point. so look for peninsulas and points of land coming down from shore.

the bottom is also a good spot to star looking, but don't be afraid to work the water column. Especially in deep water. I've often had good luck in 70 feet of water with my lure only 20 feet deep (spray lakes reservoir).

try jigging, but don't jug constantly. leave 30 second breaks in between movement intervals and you'll often get bites here.

You're allowed to have 2 holes, take advantage of it. work one with an aggressive approach and deadstick (just leave it and watch the rod) some bait in another hole. You can also use a tip up for pike and burbot, but it doesn't work well for whitefish, walleye, or most trout, as they do not bite hard enough to trigger it.

Good luck!
