Birch Lake (by Burnstick) Access?
Just wondering if you are able to drive a vehicle onto Birch Lake or is the access gated only allowing you to walk on?

you cannot drive onto Birch, the path has bars in the way. I also would not recommend going in a car.

i was out there last month and did see a truck on the lake. i didn't think there was access either. I didn't ask him how he got on.
it would be nice to get the truck a little closer to the lake, it's a tough haul bringing the gear back up the hill to the parking area.

Back road
When I was out fishing last weekend we had the same discussion. I believe Kingfisher mentioned there is a back oil lease road that goes right into there. Shoot him a pm he probably can add more to the story.

if you drive past the entry way just around the bend a bit, the next left there is a trail that takes you down to the lake, i would only take a 4x4 truck down the trail because of the snow, but otherwise its a excellent trail.

Someone must have removed the gate that was installed at the entrance of the goat trail that was the secondary access onto birch.
Last time I was there, both were blocking access

No problem getting onto Birch. Thanks everyone for their help. Slow fishing, fished from about 7:30 to 11:30 and only a few bites and a few fish sightings. There were about 6 vehicles out on the lake but people were moving around frequently so eveyone was having poor luck.
Nicemustang - thanks for nothing!

Nope, I can see what you post just fine, understanding it on the other hand......
Capitalization, spelling, punctuation, coherant sentances, would help my understanding greatly. You might very well be trying to help a guy out, but it's frustrating to try and figure out what you are trying to say.

One more try:
Beaver Lake is on the way to Birch but you must turn off onto an oil lease road between Beaver and Burnstick Lake. The lures that you are permitted to use on Beaver are quite strict such as: no bait of any kind, barbless hooks (of course, this is already a general rule through-out Alberta), no bait (oops, already said that I guess), size restrictions, and of course there are the seasonal closures that make this thread pointless, except to make fun of those that didn't pass grade 6 Language Arts.
Cheers.
