Default 2024 Minister's Special Licence - Resident Raffle - AlbertaRELM

https://mywildalberta.ca/Hunting/min...l-licence.aspx

Sent an email to ACA to inquire about the 2024 resident raffles, as the auction tags will be sold this month.

"Minister's Special Licence raffles will be administered through AlbertaRELM for 2024. Draws are anticipated to open May 30, 2024"

Do you need to apply for the resident raffle or dose your name automatically go in when you fill in the surveys?

If they are doing it through AlbertaRelm the same time as the regular draws, hopefully they draw the ministers tags at the same time as the regular draws....hopeful wishing but a guy can dream lol

Interesting that all are $10 per entry except sheep which is $20.

It’s interesting to see they put a cap on how many tickets an individual can buy. It should levels the field a bit for guys that don’t have deep pockets.

If you buy 10 tickets out of 1,000 and one person buys all other tickets, your chances are 1/100. If you buy 10 tickets out of 1,000 and 99 people buy the remaining 990 at the rate of 10 each (or any rate), your chances are still 1/100. So nothing changes for a regular guy, unless there were many who couldn’t buy tickets because one or a few “special” people buy all of them before most others could.

Your logic would work if you are only thinking of yourself but if you are thinking about others your theory is flawed.
Out of 1000 tickets if one person buys ten tickets and one person buys the rest there are only two people in the draw with one having a large advantage likely winning the draw almost every time.
However if one person buys ten tickets and 99 buy the rest there are 100 people with the same opportunity to win the raffle.

That is why I said: “unless there were many who couldn’t buy tickets because one or a few “special” people buy all of them before most others could.”
