Question Opinions on Remington Rem DriLube?

http://www.remington.com/products/ac...m-drilube.aspx

Just wondering if anyone uses the stuff, has opinions on it, etc.

They sell it at Wally World of all places; the Teflon seemed like a good alternative for guns that don't like to be soaked in oil.

Or is it crap?

I use it on an old remington model 58 semi auto shotgun that is really sensitive to getting 'gummed up' with other lubes after lots of firing. The drilube is great for this.
I also use it sparingly on my rifles that get used in the cold weather. It's good in that it doesn't get sticky when it freezes.

I use it almost exclusively in my bolt internals.
Also it works great on semi auto trigger groups.

i dont like it it quickly loses its lubricity and leaves solids behind that need cleaning up

I've used it and quite like it, you'll find a pretty much identical product (likely the same stuff with a different label) in Liquid Wrench Dry Lube (bigger non firearms-specific can saves some $$)

I also use their Super Lube as my favorite general purpose 'everything' lubricant. My exception to that is that I don't use it on firearms due to the scent.

Works great on my 10-22 and volquartsen rimfire rifles.

Not a bad dry lube and it is Teflon based. Another good, similar choice is CLP/Break Free. The absolute best for cold weather is powdered graphite/moly mix. It is slipperier and lasts better but has the draw back that the black color can get on other things. I use a suspended graphite lube on my ice fishing reals that works down to minus 45 and does not get stiff whereas the Teflon version does stiffen some. Depends on just how cold you want to go shooting in, at least ice fishing you can get back in the truck to warm up.

I have read that some guys use mobile 1 synthetic oil for gun oil. Has anyone used it?

Been using the Rem. dry lube for quite a while and I find that it works well for me.

Made the difference one cold late-winter elk hunt - the temperatures dipped close to -40 during the day, and my rifle functioned properly when it counted. Couldn't say the same for my hunting partner's rifle, though (I have no idea what lube he was using, but that "click" of a misfire can get awfully loud!)
